Everybody has down days, right?
I’m talking about those days where you question your purpose; when you wonder if all your hard work is going to pay off. You know, those days when the kids don’t want to act right and they test your patience in every single way possible. Yeah...those days.
It’s ok to say to yourself, “I’m not the perfect Mother; sometimes I lose my temper; sometimes I give in just because I don’t want to fight that battle with them today”. It’s fine to admit that you’ve reached a point in your personal journey to where you feel defeated. It’s ok to say, “where do I turn next?”. It’s fine to not have it all figured out; that is what you call STANDING IN YOUR TRUTH.
It’s fine to stand in your truth and own your frustrations and apprehension because that is what you’re supposed to do, but what is not ok, is to stay there. Eventually you know that you will figure it out. You may not be able to completely see your way through right now and that is ok. No one has it all figured out, but in due time it will all come together.
Those of us who are parents have to stop and realize from time to time that everyone comes into this parenting thing not having a clue about what they are doing. There will be days when everything that could possibly go wrong will; from running late to work because one of the little ones decide that that bright shade of red juice goes perfectly on their nice clean clothes, to you picking them up from daycare and hearing that one of them decided that she didn’t want to do her work that day. But at the end of the day, its up to you to realize that IT WILL INDEED BE OK.
At the end of the day, you must push yourself to keep going; you must tell yourself that if you are blessed to see a new day, tomorrow will be better; and (to the parents) gather your strength, calmness, and peace of mind and decide to yourself that those kids will not get the best of you.
So, on this beautiful Monday GET UP, DRESS UP, AND SHOW UP!
Today is a new day and IT WILL be a great one!
